Late Birthday Cake

[ It had taken him longer to recover from the trip than he had been expecting, but now that he felt up to it again there was something Eagle promised to do. Sure he originally only said he would get Bakura a cake, but why stop there? Bakura had made so many friends it only seemed right to invite them to have some cake too… and inform them about Bakura’s birthday for next year. ]

I know it is a little later than September 2 now, but as we were traveling at the time…

[ And no one informed him beforehand. ]

… well, I would like to invite any friends of Bakura’s who might be in Goldenrod City over to have a little cake with us in honor of Bakura’s birthday.

[See Bakura? He didn’t forget his promise of cake after all! ]

[[Ever have one of those moments where there's so many emotions in your head that you can't quite tell what you're feeling? Bakura's having one of those right now. So much that his eyes are stinging just a touch from it all]]

Of course I did! You can’t have a birthday without cake. It’s a rule!

[Said with authority as if that actually was a rule and not just something he made up. ]

Now, which Pokemon would you like to eat?

[Eagle asks while bringing a plate over to the cake and waiting for the answer. Bakura should have first pick too. ]

[[But he's always had cake-less birthdays since he was 6!]]

[[Looking just so very very embarrassed]] They look to cute to eat!

[Oh, Bakura! You are so funny! ]

But, if you don’t eat one you won’t be able to taste how good they are.

[[a small laugh at that.]] Unn... that's true.

[[and he picks one out, looking almost as if he would blush any moment at just... birthday cake. Oh wow.]]

[How adorable. That something as simple as a birthday cake could make Bakura so thrilled. Eagle had to smile at just how happy Bakura was before he too decided on a delicious cake and puts both of the picks on separate plates. ]

[He hands Bakura the plate with the cake and a fork. ]

That's a pretty good cake.

Isn’t it? One of the local restaurant owners was able to put it together for me.

I didn't know it was his birthday! [She's going to have to figure something out now- he's on her radar enough to warrant something.]

Bakura was being too shy to tell any one about it. You really shouldn’t feel badly if you didn’t know.

I should still get him something. [And knowing her it'll probably be something useful. :|]

I’m sure he would be grateful just as long as he knew you cared enough to think about him. But, I’m sure he would love anything you got for him too, if you felt like doing something like that.

[It isn't required though. ^^ ]

Thank you. One of the local bakers really did a good job with the cake I think.

It was Bakura’s birthday on the second, but he didn’t bother to tell me that until that very night and we where traveling the rest of the time… so we are celebrating a little late. He is a friend I met here in Johto. Actually he has been traveling with me since I arrived.

[Yes, that would be a big deal. He has ever right to think this is a big deal.

But, that still does make him adorable.]
