[Video - Friday Evening]


[The black clad Commander hits the ground with a roll leaving the roof of the Violet City Gym in dramatic fashion after a little reconnaissance mission. He smiles at the Mareep and Eevee waiting for him under a nearby tree before joining them to relay the information he had recovered. Eagle was totally unaware that his third Pokemon, a Vulpix, had been playing with his PokeGear and recording this little evening raid. ]


This city’s gym leader is Falkner his Pokemon are all flying types so they should be weak to you Sol because you have that new electric attack.

[The Astina the Eevee listens closely and Sol the Mareep nods upon learning his role in the upcoming battle. ]

However, they are all level 30 or higher. We should do a bit more training before trying to…

[The video suddenly shifts and tumbles to the ground as Carrera the Vulpix looses her footing on the dewy ground. As she stumbles the piece of technology is dropped and her role as a videographer is betrayed. ]

Carrera!

…Vul…pix?

Are you hurt? [Once he sees that she isn’t. ]
I know this isn’t exactly a military mission but there are times when recording video is… inconvenient...

[With that the PokeDex is retrieved and the video ends. ]

[ A smiling jovial face appears on the screen of the PokéGear. Sure he maybe halfway up a cliff and slowly sliding back down to the ground… which thankfully isn’t that far away… but he still sounds amused and maybe, just a touch confused, when he finally addresses the device. ]

These cliffs…
[He lands easily on the ground and is able to better handle the PokéGear instead of making his Vulpix hold onto it. ]

… they are very unique. They aren’t that high and there are plenty of footholds, but I can’t make it to the top anyway.
[Eagle closes his eyes and chuckles. ]
No matter how many times I try I always end up back on the ground again.

[Carrera chimes in with a small cry that seems to indicate, “And he has tried a lot! He’s very
stubborn!”]

Is this some kind of magic?

Also, I do have a question about eggs. I seem to have acquired two of them and I’m not certain I have been caring for them in quite the right way.

[He walks over to the shade where his backpack is and there nestled amongst the sleeping bag are the two eggs. They look cozy and secure inside that bag, but just to be on the safe side Eagle moves the small compact survival knife he purchased at the PokéMart into another pocket. ]

You just keep them from getting too hot or too cold and make sure nothing damages them? Is that all there is to it?

Carrera has been taking this job very seriously.

[As if on cue when a tiny Caterpie comes crawling out of the tall grass, the Vulpix runs over to it and roars boldly to scare the creature away from the eggs. Her over protectiveness again causes the Commander to chuckle.]

With all of this travel she seems to have learned a new skill.

Personality:
Eagle is charming and polite, with an almost uncanny ability to make people like him. He tends to put people at ease with his easy calm demeanor. Often times individuals will confide things in him because he seems like such a trustworthy and steadfast friend, genuinely sympathetic to their pain.
But, behind the friendly smile he has a calculating nature. Eagle is very perceptive and he is often able to size up people and situations just by observation. Eagle is something of a natural strategist. He can look at a situation and instantly know what the best course of action would be to achieve the results he is trying for. He is clever and very curious about the world around him.
The son of a politician, Eagle has a natural ability to led. He aspires to achieve great things and will work towards his goals with unfailing focus. He has a will that goes beyond stubborn. When there is something he wants he fights for it with everything he has, sometimes even to the detriment of his own health and welfare. While Eagle has the best of intensions, anyone getting between him and his ambition runs the risk of an intense battle. Eagle is not violent or malicious by nature, but he will do anything to get what he wants. Even if Eagle later feels shame or regret for the action he has taken, he will continue on towards his goal, with sheer single-minded focus.
Eagle has a habit of hiding things that really bother him from others and he will smile when he really feels more like crying. Part of this comes from his desire to not have people worry about him and part of it is because he would rather not have to explain his secrets. He is a private person, only sharing his deepest feelings when he really has to. He can be emotionally selfish and may end up hurting the people he really cares about… not because he wants to, but just by keeping them at a distance.
Publicly Eagle is used to the scrutiny that comes from being a President’s son and he tries to maintain a certain standard that is expected for public figures. Though he is always respectful he often times will drop formal titles, preferring to use first names instead.
Eagle is a young man full of athletic abilities… he can run very fast and can jump very high. He is strong and fairly adept at swordplay. He enjoys games that require his athletic abilities and cunning… especially mecha tournaments.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths :
- Eagle is very athletic. He can run very fast, jump very high and fight very well.
- He is incredibly stubborn. This can be a strength because when Eagle sets his mind to do something he will do that no matter what gets in his way. It gives him a powerfully strong will.
- He is a top mecha pilot, undefeated in battle until he finally meets Lantis during a mecha tournament on Autozam. That becomes his only loss.
- Eagle is a clever strategic thinker. He can often look at a situation and instantly decide what the best course of action would be. Due to this, and his skills with piloting mecha, he was promoted to the highest position in the Autozam military.
- The Commander has a naturally upbeat attitude and he is able to smile even in really difficult situations. This is an advantage because it often endears him to people and it does help to give him the strength to continue fighting when others would give up.
- He is very independent and likes to accomplish things based on his own strength. This trait makes it so he isn’t a whiner or constantly bothering others for things.

Weaknesses :
- His greatest fear is not being able to accomplish his last wish ‘dying in battle like a soldier’ instead of waiting for his illness to kill him. However he also has great concern for his country of Autozam and worries that it will be destroyed.
- Being kind hearted, Eagle naturally worries after his friends and even complete strangers when they are in trouble.
- Due to his illness there will be times when he is too tired or worn out to be as active as he would like. So in the game there still maybe occasions where his illness flares up again. Likely this will never be as bad as it becomes in the anime… at worst a coughing fit at best just a great need for a nap.
- His stubborn streak can also be a weakness if he becomes too persistent about accomplishing his goals. He can push forward towards those goals even if it ends up injuring himself. To this end he might need some one to watch out for him and pull him back if he is trying too hard. Canon-ly Geo often does this.  
- Eagle’s ability to smile in bad situations is also a cover. Generally he uses that smile to hide things he would rather not have people find out about himself. Even though he is very friendly, he has a tendency to keep people at arms length.
- His independent streak can cause him to rely only on his own strength and makes it very difficult for him to accept help from others.

Third Person Sample:

Eagle sat under a tree, leaning back against its slightly curved trunk. His eyes were tightly closed though he did open them briefly to see if the creature who had followed him into this forest was still there. The red fur and unblinking staring eyes met his gaze from the other side of the clearing where the small Vulpix had taken up a watchful position under a bush. So it was still there after all.
Eagle sighed and slowly closed his eyes again. What was this place? It occurred that maybe he had really died in that final battle, maybe this was some kind of afterlife… but if that were the case why did he have a heartbeat? Being able to breathe again so easily! He had almost forgotten what it felt like to not feel pain and tightness with each breath he took. He hadn’t felt this healthy since before he had left Autozam to try to become Cephiro’s Pillar. And he hadn’t coughed, not even once!
His eyes opened again to stare and the bright blue sky over his head. What had happened in that final battle? Had they managed to save Cephiro? With Hikaru as the Pillar would she and Lantis end up with the same fate that Emeraude and Zagato had… So in love with each other but unable to express those feelings? No, Eagle decided as a smile slowly appeared. He was sure Hikaru was strong enough to have found a way to save that world and also be with Lantis. They would find a way to be happy. And if they could be, he also could.
Still there. Still sitting under that bush… That little creature was persistent. A Pokémon was it? Eagle didn’t understand what those were beyond the basic that they were some kind of animal with magical powers. The lady who had announced herself as his ‘mother’ had explained a little bit about them, but the whole thing was still strange. There was no technology of the kind he was used to in this place and the people relied solely on the strength of their Pokémon to do just about everything. That little creature? Even if it were magic how could he ask it to fight for him? He was used to fighting for himself, relying on his own strength to accomplish what he wanted… and… There was a new thought. What did he want now? To go on the Pokémon Journey like that lady had said or did he want to return to Cephiro and face the noble death he had envisioned for himself…?
It looked sad over there, all by itself. What was worse, the Vulpix hopefully wagged its tail every time it noticed that Eagle was looking over in its direction. What did it want? It was a cute little thing… maybe it was just lonely. The Commander gently patted his lap, indicating the small creature should come over. This invitation was instantly seized upon as the bush was swiftly abandoned and the much warmer lap was snuggled into with a happy yelp. It really was a cute little animal…
It was decided then. Eagle beamed as he quietly stroked the Vulpix’s ears. He would at least learn more about this world before making any kind of lasting decision.
“Now… what should I call you…?”

Ten years in the future… hm?

Well, you might have heard of Eagle’s accomplishments. After leaving school he would have returned to his home country of Autozam and with his skills achieved the rank of Commander of that nation’s military forces. Sadly news would later also reach the school that Eagle had died in a battle to save that nation. His efforts succeeded in part, he was able to save friends, his ship, and form new bonds with neighboring nations that intend to help Autozam with its environmental crisis. And he was able to achieve his final wish, dying in battle as a soldier. He had no regrets.
