Tournament talk while at work

[Video or Action at Golden Rod City Inn]

Did anyone happen to see the posters that have been put up around town advertising the Johto Fighting Tournament? I notice it says you are allowed to use weapons in this competition. I wonder what kinds of weapons people will have. I was under the impression that all weapons were illegal here?

[It never hurts to fish for information with a friendly smile on your face. ]

I am considering signing up for this.
[Which means he already has. ]
It should be an interesting change from the more commonplace Pokemon battles that occur here.

Oh, excuse me…

[Since Eagle is currently working as the front desk clerk at the Goldenrod City inn a moment has to be spared as the PokeGear is set down on the table long enough to help one of the inn’s new guests check in. It doesn‘t take long and soon Eagle has the PokeGear in hand again.]

I am sorry about the interruption, but I did want to ask, is anyone else thinking of signing up for this tournament?

[OOC: Lost your room key, need to check in, Pokemon stuck in the tub? Anyone who has business at the inn can catch Eagle at the front desk. ]

Yeah-- it's an American sport. I saw it once on TV, it looks pretty boring.

[Now I am sorely tempted to have Eagle use a golf club. :P ]

I will have to ask Bakura about this sport. He probably knows enough about it to explain it to me. Maybe a ‘golf club’ would make a good weapon? It might be better than a stick.
craftingrebel: (You take care okay senpai?)

[lksadgjljkf omg doit.]

Yeah-- he might be better explaining it than I would. And maybe?

[I might! It is more interesting than what I came up with. ]

I should wish you good luck in the competition if you decide to join yourself. It should be fun.

Its nice to meet you Kanji. I am Commander Eagle Vision from Autozam.

[ Such a face!]

You have never heard of Autozam either?
It is alright if you haven’t, most of the people I have spoken to have never heard of my world before.

[Ignoring his name for the moment... which strangely people from Earth seem to find unusual. ]

Uhh... No, not really? What's it like?

[identity profile] unyieldingwill.livejournal.com 2011-09-24 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a very developed world with tall buildings encased in biodomes where all of the technology is controlled by mental energy.
Where do you come from? Is it Earth?

[personal profile] craftingrebel 2011-09-25 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Biodomes?? And-- how can it be controlled by mental energy?

Oh-- yeah, I live on Earth.

[identity profile] unyieldingwill.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
We have developed a system over the years that can harness the power of mental energy and turn that into energy, the details of how that works would be difficult to explain, but we use it to power everything from lights to mecha.

[Pride in his world shifts a little toward sadness as he brings up this next part. ]

It has its downsides… the pollution this system causes forced us to build biodomes to contain all of the save air near the surface and keep the pollution on the outside.
But, I know we will find a way to fix that situation.

Mecha? Like... Giant fighting robots?

O-Ohh... Well... at least you built something to save the air instead of letting it happen?

[identity profile] unyieldingwill.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
[The darker topic is abandoned in favor of the much more interesting mecha! ]

That’s right, giant fighting robots. We have tournaments for them like they have Pokemon battles here in Johto.
I have been told you don’t have mecha on Earth. They are only in stories?
craftingrebel: (Well yeah I guess--)

[personal profile] craftingrebel 2011-09-25 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Man, and I thought those only existed in cartoons and video games! And yeah, pretty much.

[identity profile] unyieldingwill.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Cartoons, video games, and foreign worlds.

[Smile!]

People do have trouble believing it but I promise I am not making it up.

Well that's cool. And why would someone want to make that up. I believe ya man.

Thank you.
It is nice to be so easily believed. The last person I told that to, I’m not sure they ever believed it.

Waking up to find yourself trapped in a video game?

[That was a stranger story surely. ]

Nnn--not really. Try waking up inside of a TV.
