Suddenly in a Pokémon World

[Introduction - Video]

[ At first the video only shows a paw as it stumbles to walk over the PokéGear and accidentally steps on the video button. Then a nose as the object is thoroughly sniffed. But a muffled nearby cry is enough to draw the small Vulpix’s attention away from its investigations and over to the young man asleep on the twin sized bed. He tosses, mussing his fair colored hair and clutches at the blankets as he winces in pain. Though there is no visible source of this discomfort it seems quite real to him.
As the Vulpix tilts its head, sadly calling out in sympathy, the young man startles and suddenly sits bolt upright. He appears dazed and takes a moment looking around the small room before bringing a hand up to gently hold his head. ]

This isn’t Cephiro… A nightmare…?
No, that can’t be right.

[ The man slowly looks at his hands, flexing the fingers as if he is surprised that he can do so. ]

That battle… were the Magic Knights able to win?
I don’t remember anything after that light. What happened? Does this mean… I’m not dead after all?

Un. [[nod nod]] It has a lot of smaller towns and cities listed. I've been thinking about heading out to the nearest one soon.

[The Vulpix once again chimes in to bark and swish it’s tail.

Are you? Then I hope you have a safe journey.
But, you have to walk the whole way? It is a good thing that town doesn’t appear to be that far away.

It looks like. [[does not appear to happy about this, but what can you do.]] And it is good that it's so close! I've only camped out once before, I'm not sure how well I'll do with that. But if it's only for one night, it should be all right. [[he hopes]]

[Camping out in a strange area without any weapons or local knowledge… yea, it didn’t really sound like the best idea. ]

Have you had the chance to learn more about the area first? If it is a well traveled path it might not be a problem, but if there are monsters or you run out of supplies…

[Even if they only just met Eagle is a little worried about Bakura going off on his own like that, especially with his limited camping experience. ]

Maybe you should find a more experienced camper to travel with.

It seems to be a pretty solid road, even if it's not paved.

[[a bit of a pause. Right. RPG world. Probably complete with random encounters. Hrm. Well that puts a wrinkle in things. Aaaa, he really needed to think these things through better!]]

We don’t actually do a lot of camping on Autozam. The biodomes and climate controlled atmosphere kind of make it unnecessary.

[A laugh. ]

But, I should be able to manage.

[He’s resourceful enough for it. ]

What is supposed to be in these other Cities?

I'm not really sure! I'm hoping a few more clues to what we should be doing here.

[[a pause and a sheepish addition]] and maybe a game shop or something like that. There doesn't seem to be too much here, really.

Aaa-- not for the drink! [[says with utter embarrassment]] For information! That's where you find out all sorts of things in games. Since this is sort of like a game world, I thought maybe it would work the same way.

A tavern is a good source of information, or at least it can be, but nothing about this world seems like a game.

It all feels very real.

[Unfamiliar with the Pokémon game series… ]

[[He's never played them either. He's a big ole TRPG nerd :D]

Un, it does feel real, it just has a lot of the same elements as a lot of the games I play.

The music that never seems to stop playing even when the radio is turned off?

[That is the first thing Eagle seizes on that seems game-like. ]

[[nod nod]] Exactly!

If this is some kind of game world there must be a way to end the game.

[[OoC: And through the glory of time delay, Bakura has actually set up to travel with Death and should conveniently remember this at some point to invite Eagle to see if he can come too. Hope that works?]]

[[nod nod]] So if it is based on that, once we trigger the main quest and then finish it, we should have the option to be sent back home.

[OOC: He is traveling with Death…? This mun finds the irony of that pretty funny. ^^ Fine with me invite away. ]

Could the answer be that simple? [Maybe not, but Eagle really didn’t have a better idea at the moment. ]

Anyway, it is something to consider. Maybe I should also look into traveling.

If you'd like, I talked with someone yesterday who's going to be leaving soon, I can see if she wouldn't mind one more to the party. The bigger the group, the better the trip will be, I'm sure!

I would feel badly about it if your trip didn’t go well. I can at least make sure you arrive safely.

[Eagle is kind of independent and it is difficult for him to rely on others, but right now he has himself convinced that Bakura needs the help, so he can agree to tag along. ^^” ]

Unless of course the person you are traveling with believes they can handle the journey by themselves.

I'm not really sure, I think she's also new. And it'd be better with more people just in case, I think. If there are any random encounters, with enough of us, no matter what the level, we can take care of it!

[[probably for the best. Bakura's prone to bad luck and isn't exactly the most physically able person, even if his arm is healed. And while he's used to living on his own, he's used to it in Tokyo, not a much less developed place.]]

There do seem to be a lot of new people in this place.

You will have to let me know what she thinks of the idea, since traveling in groups is probably the safer option.

Yeah. I'm starting to think everyone wakes up here the same way at first.

and I will! Safer and more fun. The once I had to camp out it was a group of us and even with the lack of supplies, [[and the player killer and Kaiba's helicopter and the Sennen Ring interruptions...]] it was pretty fun because we were all together.

Not everyone I notice. Some people have mentioned getting as letter that tells them to wait for orders. Did you receive one of those?

Yes, I guess it would be more fun also. Having some one to talk to along the way might be nice.

[The Vulpix thinks on that before deciding that is probably true and yipping to make sure there was no harm done. ]

I wonder why some people were singled out to receive letters and others were not. [Curious about that but also about the creature now sitting on Bakura’s head. ]

What kind of Pokémon is that?

Maybe it has something to do with what sort of world they came from? Or maybe they're working for the GM! [[a bit of a grin. It's mostly a joke.]] the GM always passes notes to people he has in on his schemes, after all.

And Amane-chan is a misdreavus. A ghost type! [[smiles up at the little pain who makes a ghostly moaning sound in return. Which doesn't seem to bother Bakura at all as he repacks his bag togethr.]]
